Nothing wrong with that cabling, BPS. Myself, I love the results of good cablling, but with the last couple of builds I seem to be in such a rush to get thigns together I don't have time to do as good a job as I should. I put a fan controller in this last one, and boy, it tricky to get the fan jumpers to it neatly.

Empty Quarter- Thata's a neat little build- which way is the air going through that radiator?

Thanks for the kind words, Babrbarossa. I noticed that I posted one of those "cheater" wire management shots. I do have some more revealing ones, here's one. I really like the look of the "permed" SATA cable, it was a perfect fit for my HDD situation.

I had one of those cases, they're great! Sold a build in it though. Still have the newer version, the TX1050b, and love it too! I removed the bottom harddrive cage like you, and removed the mount for it too, really cleaned up the look. There's just a few rivets that need to be drilled out from the front, then you're in business! Also, put another fan there?

OK here are some of mine. The case is an oldie but a goodie. Best wires I could do without cutting up the case. Specs in signature.
Wires? I don't see no stinkin' wires! Oh wait! There's one!

Ah, welp, I bet I could see a couple more if there was a shot from the rear angle.

Nice clean look, BP, those cases are real workhorses and they are certainly popular candidates for people cutting them up!

The question that is really burning me up is just how much overkill is that vid card for that system? I have the same basic setup with a 7900GT, and am very curious just how much improvement an 8800GTS would provide, or if it would be waiting for the CPU all the time?

I'm slowly working on my upgrade to a Conroe, currently bench testing the mobo/cpu/ram with an old 6800GS. The one part I don't have is the vid card, and was holding out for a 8800GT. In any case, I'd be seriously tempted to drop the vid card in my current system for some benchmark goodness along with a few evenings of gaming before passing it along to the new system. I've decided to keep my old system as a work machine since it has all my work on it and would be a PITA to migrate all the data over -- this way the new system would remain a gaming only rig for the time being, and allow for a faster and easier swap since I only need to have a vanilla OS install with a few favorite games.

My old (currently current) system could serve as a second gaming rig for some time to come, if it can take an 8xxx series vid without being a waste. I can use the 7900GT in one of the kid's systems here.

BPS: Doh! Now I see the second post/pic you have of a side view. And two more wires along with it! :haha: (didn't notice the thread started a new page)

I like the curly sata as well! Might not work as good with several HD sata cables, but like an old timer once said at DIY Street, "If ya can't hide it (a wire) and it's gonna be visible, make it look purdy!".

Lithotech - Well I know my CPU is a little dated for an 8800GTS but it works fantastic for me. Games are not really proving to be CPU limited because, for one, my CPU is OC'ed to 2.5GHz and second, I'm running them at 1680x1050 resolution. Most at very high settings (Day of Defeat / CS: Source, BF2). I ran the Crysis demo (in DX9 mode) at 1680x1050, all medium settings and was very happy with the performance and look of the game.

I am in the process of Stepping-Up my card with EVGA and moving to an 8800GT 512MB card. It's free besides shipping costs, can you blame me?!

Cpt. Vortex - I would really like to drill out those rivets and remove the HDD cage holder. Besides, I lost that HDD cage a looooong time ago! Whoops?!

I might just add that second 80mm fan up there when my 8800GT arrives. Looks like I might need some velcro stickers to attach the thing. I find my one front intake fan annoys me the most right now but it is a Thermaltake model....
