Saw this on OCN a few weeks ago. Shame these weren't around when I bought my U2711's.

Is this one of the glossy ones or does it have an AG coating?

so its a lg ips panel from korea with no AG coating for less than have the price. Apparently the same panel as the imac 27" and u2711.

Looks too good to be true. But also has a fair amount of extremely happy customers.

Fascinating... The temptation is there to buy a few...

Pics of black background in the dark for bleed and subjective thoughts on the response times?

(Reviewed) $400 2560x1440 IPS no-AG 90hz+ Achieva Shimian QH270 and Catleap Q270

Here is the link to the 200 page thread at OCN. There is alot of good information regarding the specs and an outline of the risks associated with buying. The only thing you need ontop of what comes in the box is a generic power cable as the cable from the power brick to wall uses the European style socket.

Overall I feel that the risk of a faulty product is no higher than buying a 27a850d or u2711 here in NA. But in case of a faulty product there is more hassel involved in getting a replacement. The sellers do seem easy to work with though so in case of a defective product(like standard practice a few dead pixels does not qualify as defective) I think they would send you a replacement, but shipping is on you.

I might give this a shot, although I might buy a vesa mount if I'm not satisfied with the stand.

For Linus:
from OCN the monitor on the left is the reviewed QH270 which has backlight bleed along the top.

Interested in this monitor as well but the glossy screen bothers em a bit. There's a group buy that's being loosely organized on RFD but I don't think it's going to go through. Would be much easier if Linus could get ncix to help coordinate a group buy of the 100 units that are needed for a minimum order direct from the manufacturer
