Thats...ballsy...to announce considering the lack of faith the gaming community has in them currently.
Edgerunners brought a ton of people back to the game. Almost 2 years after release, it had a higher 24hr player count than TW3 ever did. 20 million copies sold definitely seems like it was successful to me.

They have 2 Witcher games in the works. Another that is going to be developed by an external studio, but using assets from the TW4 they are building.

They are opening another studio in Boston. It and the Vancouver studio will be working on the next CP full time once Boston studio is up.

I had a strange thing occur yesterday. Driving Jackie's motorcycle and pulled up across the road from a robbery or assault. I was next to a very tall building. As soon as I stopped a body slammed into the sidewalk next to me... Assuming it's intended since you can hear the screaming until the crunch. I don't know what triggers it though - driving by or pulling near it? I reloaded the last save, came by the same spot and it happened again, which is when I noticed the screaming.

If anyone is interested, I'll do a screen shot of the map location.

If the Cyberpunk DLC ends up nearly as a good as 'Blood and Wine' or 'Hearts of Stone', maybe they'll generate enough buzz and draw enough people back that CDPR has enough goodwill that C2077 II is a guaranteed hit.

I think if the Cyberpunk DLC is anything less than amazing, they'll have a massively uphill climb with the sequel. If the DLC ends up a bug ridden mess or cash grab, well, I think even Witcher 4 pre-orders and sales are going to tank substantially unless it's a 'Game of the Year' hit with critics.

Just an observation from playing Witcher 3 again. This could have been a positive post in the Witcher thread or a negative post here :)

I've said this before but I find the denizens wandering Night City to be very disappointing. I referring to just the nobody NPCs wandering the streets or in the bar, restaurants, etc. Even the ones you can talk to have nothing interesting to say unless they are part of a quest, as far as I've found. The end result is, imo, they make the city feel less immersive rather than more, even though there are tonnes of them. Opportunity lost I think.

Compare that to Witcher 3 wandering NPCs. Every major town or city you enter seems to have people doing stuff and even lots of little dialogs, stories about events that you can listen to. Always makes me wonder if it is something I need to hear, or additional info that could add to quests, or just flavour added in to make the world more alive and immersive. Seems the latter in most cases.

Anyway, just wish they had put that level of detail into Night City. I really would have appreciated it.

I suspect they just couldn't in CP2077. There's too many NPCs and too much detail and scenery. Adding lots of NPC actions, paths and behaviour would probably have broken the game even more at release.

The NPC density difference in Night City is so much higher than even the most dense sections of W3 I don't think you could have managed it even if they dropped X1 or PS4 support right off the bat.

I still think that 90% of all the issues with regards to CP2077 had to do with the crazy idea to include support for the older consoles. They would have never gotten the flack they did if they had ignored them. Plus the extra time it would have given them to polish things up would have done wonders.

After about 2 years to when I started playing and just as instantly shelved it due to the plethora of bugs, I've finally decided to actually do 1 playthrough and started playing a couple of weeks back. That said, I just don't know what choices I did wrong so that my best equipment ended up being these things. 😰
