changed my mind and want to go with a mid-tower...but I'd still appreciate recommendations.

@Cannon Fodder that case is honestly kinda "Meh". For nearly the same money you can get a bigger brand case with far better quality of life features... the case you linked mentions things like "space behind the motherboard" and a generic grilled front as "features". It's all kinda generic and boring, IMO.

To each his own, I suppose. I got it for my bro-in-law because it was decent, at a decent price, and he really doesn't care much about the case, AND it was in an effort to keep the costs at a palatable level, while getting something decent. I happen to like that case..... just another opinion.

Please do enlighten me.... got a few examples, in the same price ballpark?

When shopping for his stuff, I was looking at value for money(which Montech does a good job of), AND items that were either available close to me(Canada Computers in Coquitlam, BC, or Memory Express in Langley), OR via free shipping, and that case checked the boxes I was looking at.

Uh, ok?
Fractal Focus 2 RGB = currently $109 @Newegg.
BeQuiet Pure Base 500DX RGB = currently $120

The Corsair and Coolermaster I mentioned are both around ~$180ish, but they are either larger, come with more fans, or both.

They both cost more than the Montech(add $15 for shipping on both of them), and after a quick glance at the listed features, I didn't see anything there that was "far better quality of life"..... about the only thing that potentially jumped out, was that the looks of them might be more appealing to some people.

1) If you can't be bothered at all to fully research before making your point(s), then your entire argument becomes a joke. Facts matter.

2) Build quality matters. Better materials matter. Experience in the field matters. But congrats! You've saved a whole ten dollars and helped some knockoff company undercut an actual one! Go you! 🙄

So in the 9mins. that elapsed between when I suggested the Montech case and you said "meh", you "fully researched" the Montech case..... uh-huh. That, and my point was perfectly valid, i.e. I told you why I chose that case FOR MY BRO-IN-LAW, and since I liked it as well, I thought Marzipan might also.... THAT was the point.

You forgot one - price matters, at least to some people. As for knockoffs...... C'MON, case manufacturers are LARGELY knocking each other off all the time..... 011D ring a bell, adding wood to cases, removable drive cages, etc., etc. - they all do it.

Personally a hard pass for me due to solid (minor venting) front panels. Any case testing I have seen has proven that the "silent" by blocking the front panel fans is a bad idea. A very free flowing case with the fans turned down will be cooler at the same noise level as a solid panel front with the fan speed higher to try and get airflow through.
