... I don't really plan on doing much in the way of "hardcore gaming" but I'd like a system that can actually keep up. I'm not really interested in non-Intel processors, and am not really interested in going ATI again either.

If the system can do it reliably, I may consider overclocking it. I'm also going to add another 2g of RAM in the near future.

How does this look in terms of a "bargain" build which still has some decent performance?

That system will do just fine on a 19" monitor. If you have a bigger LCD, you may want to upgrade your GPU a bit.

Yeah - for 119$ CDN that BFG card is a pretty good bargain... can you suggest anything comparable or better in that price range? :)

that is the 9600gt
EVGA 8800GT, the 8800GT gives better performance than the 9600GT, and not sure that the factory overclock is large enough to make a significant difference to change that.

Do you plan to order or do local pick up at a store?
Cause you might want to call in and check, that was the case with my 9800GTX+, they had one left luckily for me :).
