has anyone ran Chrome OS Flex? i was looking into this can it run Kodi? trying that Google TV x86 was not good. still looking for a better alternative to the nvidia Shield. got some hardware laying around willing to try as i have a few 5700G's that im sure are at least 10x as powerful then the X1 Tegra SoC in these set top box's.

Chrome OS Flex does not have the google playstore, so you cannot install kodi.

You need to go full linux (or windows).

Libreelec will do just fine and you can install it on a flash drive to try it instead of wiping and ssd.

read further into this there is a way to use linux versions. but id also need to be able to control the os with a controller or remote. could do some tinkering.

is there no way to side load the Play Store like you can on Amazon Fire OS devices?

Libreelec was my total go to for my rasppi but the raspi pi for me ( rp3) had the occational stuttering issues whe nstreamin from my PC so I stopped using it Istill have two raspi 3 sitting in my drawer I wanted to make media center using one of them but it can only handle on drive and as for streaming rom my PC its a no go , Imay try it again but Ifeel tha tone of my old laptops woudl be better .

@Cannon Fodder ah the wildfire finally sorta under control we had to leave lol forced last minute evacuation we finally home but we got no mail services yet. ill give libre elec a chance then since Chrome Flex seems more trouble then worth lol for this project.
