That rig is a BEAST! ppl like me dream of rigs like this. you sir, are one lucky man :thumb:

Any benchmarks available???

Also, I wanna know if the physX card actually helps or hinders your performance, because in extreme rigs like this, it could possibly hurt it :(

Very Nice I have been thinking of adding another 2x u2711's in eyefinity, love to see some benchs at that res if you have time, though your 3x580's eat my 2x6970 still would be interested if you could.

Awesome rig man, have fun with it.

If you sell a 6970 and pick up a 6990 you will eat the GTX 580's

This isn't completely true as the 3GB gtx 580 tends to perform slightly better then the 6970s do, and the 6990 is a neutered dual 6970 which again would lead to him under performing against the 3GB cards

not a chance. Weaker chip and less RAM.

Where are the rear speakers located? And where are the cards? May we see the internals?:shok:

That is one awesome looking build. Would love to see pics too. One question though...does having a 460 as your physX make much of difference with 3 580's. Serious question as I am not overly familiar with physX. It is my understanding with high end cards you don't really need a dedicated physx card, so was curious about the difference you would see.

Weaker chip doesnt matter when the third card does almost nothing... AMD's Scaling on 6970's are much better and the extra VRAM on the cards doesnt help all that much becausse they are bottlenecked by architecture before the memory even comes into effect.

Check out GTX 580 3gb reviews and check this

Introduction - NVIDIA GeForce 3-Way SLI and Radeon Tri-Fire Review | [H]ard|OCP

Edit: those benchies look like an ass kicking to me and considering it's known the the 3gb don't beat out the 1.5gb especially in multi-card set-up I don't see where the win for the GTX 580 is. Apparently Scaling > throwing money at something.

P.S for the O.P I'm not chirping your build... for a workstation 580 is the way to go and also folding 580 is the way to go, pure gaming I'd take the 6990 + 6970
