Confused on which motherboard to buy. B550 AORUS PRO or X570 AORUS ELITE?

I will be purchasing a Ryzen 5600X (6c/12t) when they come out next month, and am very confused on which motherboard to buy, the B550 Aorus Pro or the X570 Aorus Elite .

I will be running a single 1TB Adata SX8200 Pro PCIe Gen3 x4 (3500 read, 3000 write) and have no intention of ever buying a faster Gen4 NVMe down the road. I wont be running a 2nd drive either, just the single NVMe. I have a 2060S GPU, and will be using that for a while before buying a better one (RTX 3070 or 3080) next year.

Am I better off with the B550 or X570 for what I've listed? I'm assuming the Ryzen 5600X cpu will perform the same on both motherboards? Here is my full part list of everything I will be using except the Ryzen 5600X which isn't listed yet: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/wRg2RT

I think Hardware Unboxed have a bunch of round up videos testing a bunch of motherboard. If you're not running multi-GPU and only a single NVME drive, I guess B550 is the way to go. Double check the lane configuration and speed. That's the key difference between the 2 chipset.

The biggest difference in your specific case is the cost versus IO outputs & types, I would guess;

B550

X570


The x570 wifi is on sale for $265, where the B550 is on sale for $230, no wifi option.
(I usually recommend to my friends to get wifi because it allows bluetooth connectivity)

I have owned non-wifi boards with bluetooth...

but I think your right in the other direction I don't think i have ever seen a wifi board without bluetooth.

They largely look like the same board, other than the chipset itself.

The $35 difference is really just the WiFi/BT module, so up to you whether you need that or not. Both boards seem to be 12+2 VRM and will run a 5600X fine. They both have BIOS flashback too, so you should be able to update the BIOS to support Ryzen 5000.

I can honestly say I've never heard the chipset fan on my Asus Prime X570 Pro.

Same on a MSI x570 Gaming Edge wifi, it isnt like they are spinning up constant like NF4's were back in the day.
