@sswilson Something I forgot to consider... how does the cabling from the monitor(s) get into the GPU ports? Does it just come in through a slot in the case and sort of live in the gap between the GPU bracket and the back of the case?

Can't quite see what's happening there in your pics and I never thought to ask.

Exactly. It comes in through the open PCI slots.

Amazon CA has then fore 59 $ . My two cases have dividers between each slot. I would need to buy a new case or a dremmel .

The design accommodates for that. There's a gap between the slots and the back part of the rig. As long as your connector head fits between the individual slots you'll be able to get access to the back of the card.

So what was the verdict for the other folks who grabbed one of these? Did it work? Where are the pics? ;)

Here they are, here they are! :)

It worked for me, and I’m pleased with the results but it wasn't as easy as planned. There are some things to consider in a smaller case like mine.

My issues:

1. I don't believe I have non-standard size DisplayPort (DP) cables, but there was no way mine were fitting through the open PCI slots in the case, and also, the connector was too long with the card in a reasonable place. By that I mean they wouldn't have fit in the space between back of the GPU and the back of case.

2. Consider the size of the case and the length of the GPU. That may be less of an issue if you have really short DP cable connectors (is there such a thing?), as I said in 1, but you'll perhaps want to check all those measurements before you go down this route, especially if you are shy about a case mod.

3. And all this would be much easier if you go the non-lazy route and remove your large air cooler! :)

Here is my experience:

Initially with it installed, to have even close to enough space behind the GPU for the cables, it still wouldn't have been enough, I would have had to have the GPU placed like this, tight against the front fans. I wasn't happy with that.

This was the view from the back. Little hard to see but notice how the alignment of the ports and slots is going to be a challenge even if I could get the cables through the spaces.

And these are what my DP cables look like. Not abnormal I don't think?

ALL HAIL THE DREMEL!! Very handle little tool to have around. Removed a couple of the between slot metal strips and ended up with this. Much better. Yes the left edge is a little rough because I used the Dremel to cut the right side, and bent and broke off the left. That was a little too close to the motherboard and I didn't trust my Dremel hand that much!

This mod also allowed me to slide the GPU all the way back. Much better.

And the DP cables ended up like this.

For the final product:

So as I said, overall really happy with the result. Just wasn't a drop in and go in my set up. But it is very nice to see that side of the card. The Radeon RGB still looks good in that position I think, and it is helpful to be able to see when your GPU fans are running and not.

And for those of you who already installed it, and I missed something and was doing the cabling wrong, please feel free to point that out! There didn't seem to be any obvious way to get those DP cables in there in my set up.

That's a lot tighter with a large cooler than I thought it was going to be. Looks great though!

And nope.... nothing obvious about the way you installed it which would suggest that you didn't need to dremel out the PCI slots. I guess it's how things have to be in cases with a relatively short profile. (My corsair 220t was a similar profile).

Different issue but at some point it’s going to be time to switch out those white Corsair fans for something that better suits the dark/grey components. They looked good in my custom loop that had more chrome and clear tubes but they are looking a bit out of place now I think.
