COVID is proving itself to be quite worrisome.

now they're saying that those who suffered long-COVID can have up to 20 yeas of aging / impairment to their brains. while the cohort used is kinda small, the data is lining up with other research being done:

None of the people I know that have got COVID have got long-COVID. Is there a pattern to it?
Middle age, people that had severe covid symptoms (inc'l possible lung damage), health workers and people with multiple pre-existing conditions that limit physical activity from what I remember the last time I read about it.

And then there's people like Brandon Sutter, of the Canucks - while the rest of the team recovered and have played, he missed the entire season, and STILL has no timetable of when/if he'll return. He was recently on TV, during the intermission of one of the Canucks' games, and I caught the last part of it..... sure doesn't sound very promising.

I think the article points out that those with long-COVID generally had to be on a respirator or they would have died.

Not according to the article I linked. Even mild COVID can result in long in some cases.

Yup, there was an article, sometime in the last couple of days, on, IIRC, the CNN web site, that was yappin' about the chances of having "long COVID" being higher for people that had few, or zero, COVID symptoms. I didn't read the article, but just happened to notice the headline.

so, now with 2 years of COVID data, its been spotted that there is a 3.5x higher liklihood of getting Alzheimer's, 2.6x more likely diagnosis of Parkinsons, 2.7x higher chance of stroke and 4.8x more likely to suffer a brain bleed.

AYE YI YI!!!
