Watched that vid that gingerbee posted, using the solder stencil - that thing looks super handy to get the job done easier! (y)

As for the tools/parts listed in the 1st post, I sure could've used that magnifying station earlier this year, when I was trying to straighten some pins in a LGA socket. (y)

Yeah it looks like it'll be so handy I have a 3200G I can sacrifice since the PCB looks crushed one end it's dead but the 5900x even with bent / Broken pins get hot so it's still alive. Soon as I get the station I'll get some pics up on it.

Hmm, most of those bent pins look easily fixed, but that one pin is pretty bad - be careful straightening that. I suppose you'll need to straighten the bent ones before you try the pin replacements..... you did get one of those stencils, didn't you?

So, can we assume that what YOU see on that magnifier's screen looks a fair bit better than these pics, or is that the limitation of the magnifier's screen? I ask, because I've seen some pics & video of socket repairs, and they were clearer than these..... maybe those ones were using much higher end equipment?

Got some percison tweezers coming from Northridge fix. I'll remove the bent pins and get new ones on there instead maybe safer lol.

The quality is prob my phone I'll get a ad card in the viewer since.it can do 12 mega pixel.

Well, I suppose you'll have to check them out and make that decision, based on how good you think you can fix them, BUT if the bent pins are still solidly soldered in, and they're not bent THAT badly, I'd have no hesitation in simply bending them straight - I've done it on a few pins in the past, and had no problems. That one pin, however, might be better if replaced.....
