$300 for a 16GB GTX 1080. You could get a 3060 12GB on FBM for similar price. While that 4GB does make a difference, depending on the workload, a newer card could be faster. A new 9060XT is $490 before tax so let say $550 for a brand new card. Sure ROCm is kind of funky still but it's very hard to justify spending 60% of a new card on something this old.

AI workloads if it is larger than the vram the difference in performance can be pretty significant so there will be people specifically hunting for 16GB+ cards.

And as a server treats it a P4000 and 1080 are not the same. For example things like jellyfin/Plex etc are artificaly capped at something like 3 transcoding streams on the consumer cards but a Quadro or Tesla with the exact same die isn't limited on stream count.

So the quadros in general still do fetch a premium. It is also why I was so excited to grab a Tesla P4 for the price I did because it is basically a 8GB 1080 without the stream limit. And if a 1080ti can still sell for 200-250 depending on the area then 300 really doesn't feel like that far out.

Edit: now would I pick it up if it was local... No wouldn't fit my server and rather buy an Intel arc b50 still if I could get my hands on one (~500cad)

P4000-8GB regularly listed at 200

Seller want $450 for a 4060 8GB but a new 5060 8GB is $410 before tax and RX 9060XT 16GB is $490 before tax.

No way that's only 3 years old. GPU looks like it is 10+

I see that sort of ad on FBM fairly often, i.e. what that seller PROBABLY means, is that it's "3 yrs. old", because that's when he got it, rather than that's the age of the components in said "custom build". That, and "custom build" probably means a buddy of his slapped it together, out of a mix of new, new-ish, and well used parts.
