if i recall, some OCZ ssd's had some crazy 50% failure rate, uncertain if that pertains to the Vertex 2 or not but I remember that. Being old that is.

Yup very high failure rate. bought a batch for the office to act as boot drives. near 100% failure rate within 6 months.

Edit: That price is ridiculous though as you can buy new 120-250GB from more reputable brands for only $30ish

EXACTLY!!! Was just looking in the past couple of days, and many are even cheaper than that...... just another person trying to find a sucker.

The original Vertex SSDs had pretty bad rates too. I had 2-3 120gb drives that died within a week or two.
