Of course the raw milk idiots think like this.

Stayed with a relative for a while, raw milk, whole foods (or similar) were the only places they would shop. Knock-off organic cheerios with raw chunky milk (even after stirring it since it would separate and wouldn't get it fully mixed every time) was a very miserable start to a day. Blending cardboard with wood glue in a blender would have had more flavour. Strangely around the time I started drinking coffee in the mornings, getting something once I got to NAIT.

I did straddle a low fence to take a picture but it's only fencing off a stream that's about 4 feet away. But there are plenty of people that would hop over the fence at Grand Canyon and Yellowstone. I don't know which one is worst, fall to your death and then meat crayon across the ground or being melted and cooked by the geothermal hotsprings.

No one died but it could been bad. The people involved are getting the books thrown at them.

Found a link to an archived copy of the video - I guess there's idiots, then there's even stupider idiots with a lot of money with nothing better to do. There's a link in this slashdot page - 2nd line/link.

I don't understand why this is entertainment. There's a chance the vehicle may hop off the dyno or fail. This is some Final Destination shit.

Not exactly the same thing, but we used standard 4 door jeep cherokees for weapons towing in Germany. The vehicle maint dudes couldn't figure out why the trannies were failing on them until they discovered what we were doing with them......

4X weapons trailers (aprox. 3K+ lbs each) with 4 - 6 500lb+ (each) air droppable munitions on each trailer. Apparently the stock cherokee config wasn't designed to tow 20K+ lbs.... :)

But would those munitions go off if they get hit with a hot axle? I assume they aren't fused until they get to the plane. Then again, 4 to 6 MK82 going off that close probably won't make you feel a thing. These dyno pulls are meant to show case how much stupid power the vehicle has so they are running at max engine speed. I'm very surprise that axle didn't come out faster like a 2x4 in a hurricane.

For the most part, no they wouldn't. You are correct that they aren't fuzed until after they're on the AC, and a MK82 "could" be safely rolled end over end from one point to another without any real explosive risk. Rockets in a rocket pod would be a different story though, as would the bomblets in the cluster bomb units we used to use. (No longer in use by CAF).
