DDR3 has arrived at Hardware Canucks and who better to get us started than OCZ Technology Inc.. The Platinum series of memory has been a mainstay in the SDRAM market since its introduction and OCZ looks to keep that tradition alive with the OCZ 2x1GB DDR3 PC3-12800 Platinum EB.

Please feel free to discuss this review or memory here in this thread and keep your eyes periodically on this post for any updates or further information regarding this kit of memory :thumb:

Prof. Dr. Silver

Ps. I like how you have your reviews setup. It makes reading them a pleasure.

Funny that people forget they were willing to pay that price for a 2GB kit of DDR2-800 a few months ago.....

Well, with a wife and a dog to take care of.....and soon also a little Prof. Dr. Silver, I can't afford that. Which is really besides the point....if I spent that on myself...the presents on my wife have to be of equal or greater value! LOL

Thanks for the comment Prof, and yes, DDR3 is still very pricey and will be for the foreseeable future. But Michael has a point, it wasn't long ago that I paid over $400 for a kit of PC2-6400 CL3s and were they worth it at the time...every bloody penny.

These high prices are nothing new and really shouldn't surprise people that much but how easily we forget what the previous generation of technology sold for when it first came out. Plus, DDR2 was pretty pricey for a long time afterward too...it wasn't until relatively recently that prices started coming down for DDR2...they just haven't stopped

I have a friend who is in search of the PI world record, he needs some DDR3. His triple stage cascade is gonna help him out too ;)

PM or email me when its available, if you plan on selling it!
