Does anyone use a cell signal booster?

We get atrocious cellular signal in our basement, which really messes with work as both my wife and I work frequently from our home office. The WiFi in our house is great, but cellular based calls get dropped a LOT. I'm thinking about installing a cell signal booster downstairs and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them? If so, please share. I'm looking for thoughts on models, installation tips/tricks and effectiveness in a home environment. (And how badly the boosted 5G affects your government control chips :p)

I'm thinking about installing the booster downstairs, but running the line up through the walls in to the attack so I can install the antennae on the roof. Not sure if there's a line length limitation for the antennae lines on these things? Cursory look seems like the just hook up with a coax cable between components for the most part? Maybe I'm seeing that wrong?

I looked into it but the idea of drilling a hole into the stucco wall (punching thru the vapor membrane) didn't appeal to me. I just end up switching to Wifi calling on my Android phone and called it a day.

When I was younger and did a summer on a vac truck each truck had a booster. They worked but not game changing. I suspect one designed for a house would be better than a mobile 12V unit.

Who's your provider? Do they not offer wifi calling? Typically the lowest tier of the big three don't have wifi calling, but the next ones up do (I have it on my Koodo phone).

Your situation is exactly what wifi calling is all about.

weBoost. I have spoken.
That looks like a credible company at least.

I came here to say not to buy some random junk off Amazon that isn't FCC/IC certified as you'll probably just cause interference and not help anything.

But I would also agree with looking into getting a carrier that supports WiFi Calling as a potentially cheaper solution. Chances are you'd be able to snag some new customer promos, especially as we head into Black Friday/Boxing Day/etc, and may end up cheaper than what you pay today.

weBoost rebranded...but the company at the very beginning is the creator of cellular boosting as a technology.

it's also what Cradlepoint started out with too, but they are a much different company now.
