Overall there are more positive reviews, it seems, than negative. I'm going to try it. If I don't like it, I'll try and refund in time.
🤷‍♂️
Let us know what you think if you do.

I'm either skipping this one or only waiting until it's on gamepass, but if the user reviews seem high enough I may give it a try once it's on Xbox Game pass.

Yeah I'll comment for sure. @SugarJ is trying it too.

I won't be coming at it with a long history of DA experience as I didn't play those much. So my assessment won't be as a comparison to what it should have been relative to other DA games.

Darn new and shiny games... I have to stop paying full price for games! lol

While I agree there does seem to be more positive, I do get the feeling that people are almost afraid to be critical of it. Anytime someone comes out with real legitimate critiques they end up getting blasted on the social medias. Because of that I just feel that some are being more generous than they truly believe. Also there is the "I want it to be good so badly, I'll over look things" so that is a factor with some as well.

I can say that from everything I have seen and the reviews and such, I just don't feel the need to play and that does hurt. I very much wanted to like it, but so many things have pushed me away. At least until it is on the basic ea game pass thing, then I might give it a shot. And even if the ending is really good, is it worth the 30+ hours to get there?

True points for sure. I wonder how much our YouTube algorithm impacts what we see lol I was overwhelmed by negative coverage and reviews in my YouTube feed and actually had to search out the positive reviews. Weird world we live in these days.

There's a phenomena too of people wanting it to suck so they consume agreeable content to support that and of course the same for people that just want it to be good and choose to ignore the warts. Really good I think to seek out and watch/read reviews from both ends of the spectrum. Gauge whether the complaints are ones that would bug you or not. Honestly I have found the 7/10 reviews to be more helpful because they tend to be balanced and not zealots on either side.

I am not sure if I mentioned this in the thread somewhere already but I liked the DA series on PC and am curious if this is coming to PC if the price is right I would grab it I still think I have all the other ones on an n old HD somewhere which the original game I dont think sata was out yet and so I would have to get the adapter for that drive speaking of which maybe I should be going through those old drives and seeing what on them and transferring those old games onto newer sata drives ( ya I know sata is turning old )

Official release was this morning about 2 hours ago. Released on PS/Xbox/PC. Currently available on steam and ea store, maybe others haven't looked. Fairly sure it is also included in the EA Play Pro right now, so that is the "cheap" way of trying it,

Some people must live some sad lives to waste time buying a game just to refund and leave a negative review about it being 'woke'. Similar w/ all 'woke' commentaries that started popping up on my YT feed after watching a couple reviews.

But it does seem like a lot of people are having issues with the game crashing non stop.

Noticed quite a few steam reviews saying they're having major stability issues with reasonable system specs.

I've seen a few lazy reviews about the 'wokeness', sadly getting lots of helpful awards. I can get behind complaining if it's poorly written 'the power of understanding' type stuff that's forced awkwardly into dialogue, but there's definitely some reviews that read like incel stupidity.

One particularly stupid complaint was that the creator allowed you to choose they/them, when you can literally just not choose it. Reminds me when people complained you could choose to romance same-sex in earlier games and people somehow acted like it was forced on them.

Edit: I'm starting to think reviews on this game will veer towards "hopeless to see if overall review score is useful". Hardcore 'anti-woke', incel or right wing religious types are damning it just from their discomfort, while I'm seeing less offensively stupid but equally unhelpful positive reviews saying 'it's a culture war' or 'I'm anti-review bombing'. So many lazy reviews.

s always these days, I'll wait for it to iron out the bugs with patches, and buy it when it's on sale. I have WAY too many games in my backlog to buy anything on release day anymore. And I've been burned too many times with failed promises. This way, my games spending stays limited, and I always get to see reviews long term before buying.

I think the last 'at release I bought' was BG3 (which I actually got on EA but waited for release to play), but generally how I see things as well.

Too many devs shipping out games half finished while my bloated backlog grows (443 I have listed as 'Unfnished' on Steam alone, and that doesn't include the 109 I've tagged as 'skipping'. Plus GOG, Xbox and Epic....). Going to try and clear out some old games before they are all so out of date they're nearly unplayable (and a lot already are).

Thankfully I've bought most on sale, otherwise I'd be ashamed if I was buying them all at release price.
