Ah, my misunderstanding. Your watercool temps aren't much lower than my aircool. Which I now understand was the point of your observation.

I've got a spotcool blowing on high on the NB, plus my 120mm window fan sits overtop the video card and the NB. Everest reports 30 deg from mobo sensor, I think that's the NB.

Vcore set to 1.3875, droops to 1.33 under load. VMCH - +.2 IIRC. I've tried bumping the Vcore with the same results (occasional random reboots). Load temp has never been an issue, it's been the stability factor that led me to stay at 9x445.

I've done a lot of testing with the E8400 and found that 1.4V is needed for 4.0GHz ops. And with the terrible DS3L droop, you'l need to set the Vcore higher in the BIOS. VMCH at +0.2 should be fine until you reach 460MHz - and you have good cooling (if needed, +0.3 is not a problem for that board).

On the FAH front, I've installed VMware and Ubuntu last night, but after a day of roof shoveling, I feel asleep at 10pm. I will resume installation tonight.

I've completed the VMware / Ubuntu / FAH installation. And after 11% of Project 2605, the ppd stand at 2935. Really good for a chip running at 4.0Ghz. I can only imagine what the Q9450 can do ppd-wise.

Nice PPD 3.0. My system has picked up on the SMP affinity program.

Times now down to 9:27 per frame or 2680 ppd on project 2653. On Vista 64 / SMP Console. Sure wish I could get VMWare to run.

Gonna try bumping my Vcore again tonight so I'm at 1.4V under load, see what I can get out of this thing. I'm not really comfortable pushing it beyond that, I've heard of people having failures beyond that. Like the chip won't hold the OC anymore.

After 24 hours and a first WU submitted, the ppd has passed the 3000 points mark, under Vmware/Ubuntu. I'm amazed by that chip - even while folding at 4.0Ghz, it's still relatively cool at 43C...

What Vcore fo you use 3.0. I got one of my E3110's and even using RealTemp, at 3.6GHZ, under my watercooling, it is loading at near 50. Seems a little hot to me....using only 1.25V

4.0GHz (445 FSB): 1.40 Vcore

Huge Vcore jump needed for 4.0GHz, since the rig was stable at 3.6GHz while Vcore at stock.
