I'm not sure how well his design would work as normally a heat pipe is trying to move heat from one side to another and this looks like it has heat on both ends... 2 shorter heat pipes might have worked better? But I like the creativity and compatibility with HATs stills. Although might need to be careful the the bottom of a HAT doesn't have pins sticking out making contact with the heatsink otherwise that could end up as a bad day.

Would be interesting to see tests.I wonder how much convective cooling you would get say in a case. It would be good for a while but then hit a point where it wouldn't help anymore.

I like Pimoroni's Fan shim personally (not that I have an issue on my 4) but its hard to get in Canada.. or well anywhere since they can't make them fast enough.
