Ok, now that I see the size it makes more sense. I was thinking it was still a Molex jr fit like the rest of ATX connections. I can't see how those crimps can handle near as much current as the jr fit tho. Plus I'm going to need a different set of crimpers if I want to make my own cables.
Looks more and more likely I'll pass on these cards.
Werid thought instead of microsizing it into what is still a multi pin plug why are we not seeing 2 pin power video card + adapters.
There isn't a reason for an 8 pin to be limited to 150W for example besides wattage rating based on count of wires and gauge. For comparison It takes 3x6mm hoses to be ~equivalent to a 10mm tube. It wouldn't be that thick of a wire to be able to serve 150W 12V+ and a ground wire in only 2 wires replacing a 8 pin plug with just 2.
