something that makes that guys theory(ies) questionable is how common / often companies write off stuff as a loss. perhaps some really harsh / sour words were exchanged when EVGA asked Nvidia if they could take back or cancel pending orders and were told no...but then it's more pride / butthurt than disrespect.

I still have a sticker from a BFG GTX8800. It was impressive they had a lifetime warranty and seemed unlikely they could survive, but EVGA folding up does shock me.
And they died shortly after right? BFG claimed GPUs weren't profitable and they were in the PSU game back then but it obviously didn't pan out for them.

Even looking at the motherboard side of the equation that EVGA has, DFI LanParty no longer exists today either, but DFI itself remains in the industrial sector. They claimed LanParty wasn't profitable back then either when they axed it. Other than EVGA not having the bright neon colours of LanParty, I think their fundamentals are the same - motherboards built for extreme overclockers. They aren't volume sellers so I don't see how much profit they really generate.

Best of luck to EVGA, but the more I think about it, the more it seems like they're just going out of business.

I wasnt all that pleased with the astronomical amount (far more than normal) of the failed 30xx series Evga Cards right from release!

Sooooo many cards shvt the bed due to poor power delivery (components), my first 3080 likely still going (not sure), but my 3080Ti lasted about 2-3 months with minimal use....poooffff!!
Red Lights of death were popping up left right n center...and continue!

I had already made up my mind to move on to Asus Strix OC for my next Card. They're Warranty no different than Evga Warranty and there is a Canadian warehouse here (no need to ship RMA's cross border).
Motherboards I havent touched Evga since X58, so Asus Mobo's and now likely GPU's. As for psu's, thats Corsair FTW ;)
