Folding is starting to go all social network on us in preparation for the release of the new all-in-one v7 client.

From the blog of Prof. Vijay Pande; Folding@home

In preparation for our v7 client launch, we will be adding some facebook elements to our Folding@home web pages, including the Folding@home - Main information page as well as stats pages. Today, we have turned on facebook links on the team stat pages, so you can easily recommend your team on facebook. While the integration will start small, we will be working to enhance it as time goes on.

Heh...now when a folder refers to his/her "farm", it could be a bunch of GTX 460s or Farmville?

Glad to see more buzz around v7. Might actually see it soon!

Do they have a Facebook like page? I can't find it on Facebook, only on the F@H site.

I dislike facebook.. I have an account, only to talk to 'actual friends' I don't see too often.

I understand the marketing aspect of facebook, but really don't like it as everyone is jumping on the bandwagon. Only friends who have been to my home know that I fold.. only because of the "holy shit, what's that in your garage?!" comments. I don't care to tell other people I haven't seen in a while.

^^^ This. I talk to my friends by calling them, asking them questions to catch up and you know hanging out with them. Wierd. I know!

But still all 'facebook is junk' comments aside, I think the exciting point of all this is the fact that the v7 client is on the way! :thumb:

Old? who's calling who old! Why.. in my day, we had discussions over such matters. Like the time I caught the ferry to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for m'shoe. So I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt. Which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Gimme five bees for a quarter, you'd say. Now where was I... oh yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time. You couldn't get white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...
