Hi so i have a msi pcie 4.0 nvme spatium m461 and Crucial p3 plus 1tb and 2tb Samsung 990 EVO Plus, 2TB, PCIe 4.0. Can i ask which drivese that i have are Faison Controller. what m.2 has not got this i need 2tb ones does any one one know?
I am changing my main ssd just to safe. I need help in finding me a drive that does not have Faison Controller.

'Phison', if you're Googling.

Primarily these are T-Force, Sabrent, MSI, Gigabyte, SP, Patriot and PNY. So it would appear you're OK, unless other controllers display issues.

FYI, Phison called BS on the whole "Windows update killing SSD" pretty sure MS said the same thing. They could not repeat the so-called failures; there have been no more reports since the first one.

Yeah, that's what I've seen as well. Looks like there's no further corroboration on the supposed issue since the initial reports. Either complete BS, or a different cause for the behaviour that's been mis-reported.

I've definitely seen more than one report, including some demo'd on video. However, I think it's pretty limited, and it may be specific circumstances.

Spotted this one yesterday - and why it might be missed by people

BEWARE! Windows Update and SSD Problem is WAY worse than we thought! Full Demonstration
The issue with Windows Updates causing SSD Dropouts is WAY more widespread than we initially thought! Our drive is affected and its not even on the list of know drives with issues, plus our issue is different than others have experienced!
