Does it cap after level 30? I hope there is a mod to fix this if it does. I am level 29 and have yet to enter Vegas as well.

So I made a character setup will breeze you through the game. You'll be using guns though, but it's open to a secondary profession.

S 4
P 4
E 9
C 1
I 9
A 4
L 9

Small Frame. And anything else. Best choice is good natured.
Tag barter, speech, and repair. Or whatever you want to fight with, ex. guns.
There's 10 manditory perks to get, leaving you with 5 to mess with.
6 intense training. 1 S, 1 P, 4 A. Final base stats with implants should be 6 6 10 2 10 10 10
2 toughness
1 educated
1 better criticals

Good side perks are jury rigging, finesse, bloody mess, quick draw, and travel light.
My preference for final equipment is vault 34 security armor, modded sniper, gobi campaign, 1st recon beret, rebreather.
Switching weapons reloads them too, so quick draw becomes really useful.

Avoid killing stuff as much as possible and make your way to vegas for the implants ASAP. Get cards from ringo so you can play caravan to make money, super easy to win. You can run through pass enemies no problem, assuming you go through mojave outpost and novac.
With 10 luck, it's very easy to hit jackpots in the casino slots. 3 oranges can get you 32k chips! Careful with gambling as you get XP for gambling. You might want to get the intelligence/endurance implants first.

After the implants, do whatever you want. Raising speech will get you a lot of easy quests to level up quickly, and Boone, but don't max it. I usually start raising barter after speech. Then repair/guns and medicine/lockpick/science. Max skill should be 88, because there's 4 skill books of everything, with the exception of repair and science. 1 less repair due to a bug, may be fixed later, and 1 more science depending on your choice.

I found VATS to be quite useless, because you kill everything before it sees you. Just like in the 1st Recon ;) . In the odd situation you find yourself up close and personal, you have 100% chance to crit, Boone, and ED-E so... throw in a Turbo if necessary to begin the roflstomp.

Is this game any less buggy than FO3 was (still is, for me!:angry2:) yet?

I think I'm waiting for it to drop to $20.

Yeah, it's pretty buggy. Wait for it to drop.
The recent update introduced new bugs as well. It's hilarious how bad they are at fixing bugs.

Im not sure what the fuss is all about, i found this version to have about 90% less bugs than FA3. I only got a few crashes to desktop and and that was about it with this one.
