Far Cry 2, one week.

Not to bad - 3.5GB download total - A good half hour given the relatively decent Steam servers.

Haven't started the single player yet. The map editor is crazy, the game engine is crazy. Graphics are off the map, the brush fire, the little smoke wisps off your barrel, the water and light effects, and runs so damn good. It saves your benchmarks to an html file, look:

This is a total enthusiast game engine. This is dx9, xp. I'm off to test dx10.1 in vista 64. And the hotfix results.

Edit: This is the canned benchmark. A ton of explosions and fire and details. Game runs at 70+ most of the time. On my q6600*3.6 and 4850@820/1150.
 
Good to know Sir.. Get some screenies for sure please. I was thinking it might be like Crysis, very heavy engine.. But if it works for you on your 4850 at 70+, then a 4870 would be delight to play..

I'd be really interested to see how it does.
 
Couldnt wait to go to the shop so ordered on steam as well since its only 3.5gb. Aliant high-speed is giving me 190kb/s so I guess it will be a late night. shame about the US dollar but it kind of evens out with Nova Scotias GST.

Looks better and plays better than Crysis. I'll grab some screens from the map I made in a day...
 
Thats good to know ATI cards run well, even better the game looks great too..maybe Crysis was a resource hog afterall!:biggrin:. Better find that crossfire hotfix. Looking forward to the screens.

I hope it is in at EB Games today, I am driving right by one tonight on my way home. But somehow I doubt it with my luck. ;)

Crysis is one poorly optimized engine. Way overhyped.
