Far Cry 2, one week.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to play the game long enough before it crashes to get a REAL feel for it. I'm having the same problem as it would seem thousands of others are having with it crashing to desktop. In fact only 1 person I know that has the game is able to run it without it crashing. Lucky b*stard haha.

I don't know how I feel about it yet. I like GTA, but I don't know if I like Far Cry in GTA format...that's just weird. Sure there's lots to do, but let's be honest, it gets annoying and boring when that's all you have to do (just like GTA games).

My biggest beef is.....WHERE IS JACK? That was the coolest part of Far Cry playing as a badass Jack Carver. Now it's just Mercenaries 2 with a different name.

Not sure weather to be disappointed or wait until the patch to play it again or what to do.
 
not a single crash here! The only problem I have is when I alt+tab, the game reopens in window mode, and I can't go back to full size. I have to restart the game to fix the issue.

Wrong - you don't need to restart - if your game goes into windows mode, make sure the window is active, and hold left ALT and press ENTER while in window gaming mode, the screen will go black, don't panic, wait a couple of seconds, maybe 10 seconds or more and magic - full screen game ! :)
 
:( anybody haveing the same problem as me, i cant join multiplayer games
i get a "cannot connect to game, please try again later" error message, i called ubisoft 5 times today, and the retards over there have no clue, he kept telling me " the servers may be busy" even though i was trying to join an empty server, and by now ive tried atleast 20 different servers and i keep getting the same message. Ports are forwarded properly, i called my isp and they did a trace route, they said everything is going fine through there end.
COuld it be vista x64?
 
Are you kidding me ? THe Ubisot people didn't even dare ask you if your copy was legit ? LOL :D :D :D (Just kidding) Try in a joining a server in a few days things should be sorted (if you're lucky) :D
 
Check out Ubi's forums because there are a lot of people saying things about ways to fix the game (for now) until they come out with a patch. Including multiplayer.

My game seemed to stop crashing (so far *knock on wood*) once I switched it to DX9...I don't really want to run the game in DX9 when I have the ability to run 10, but looks like there's no choice until it's patched.

yea i started use the waterways a lil more,its a lot safer if u don't wanna run into so many post when ur on a mission.u come across the occasional patrol but u can always out run em.

i see lots havin crash issues i havn't had any yet eccept for every cpl times when i start the game when it gets to the menu it'll go to my desktop and the game goes up in my rocketdock . i just click on it in my rocketdock and the game opens back to the menu and way to go,thats the only prob i've had if u really wanna call it that

also, on the map, when u press 5 again to make it show the whole map... is that the full world. or only what u have unlocked. ive only been in the area southeast of pala, are all the other types of landscape in other areas? Like all those videos they released and it was open sahara desert??? wheres that
 
u press 5 to open and close the map, R will zoom in and out. I can't/won't say no more! :biggrin:
I just got the Game Guide. I normally don't but I think this one is worth it.
