I think you will be a very happy camper when the parts all come together! I see no OS, will you run Vista 64 or XP 64 or something else?

Congrats!

Heh, I have many of the same components and if you check my sig you'll see I have a modest 20% OC on the CPU. Does it add a lot of speed? Who cares! The thrill of trying and hoping nothing blows up, that's the ticket. :thumb:

My OC is a very modest FSB increase to 400 MHz. As I was increasing the FSB I kept my RAM at or near the 1066 rating they have. My Vid is set to 1.24v and showing 1.23 in HWMon and 1.232 in CPU-Z.

Everything looks good, except for the motherboard and case :

1. Make sure your HD4870 x2 will actually fit in the case (case came out in 2005... looks smallish)

2. Maybe Biostar I45 or Asus P5Q-E over the P5Q-Pro...

My .02

Yes i would suggest the Asus P5Q-E as well its only a few bucks more and so far its been a pretty solid motherboard. PLUS ONe for EPU-6 Engine it saves me energy when folding and gives me the boost of up to 3.8ghz when i need it.

Btw MemoryHouse.com has the Mushkin Ascent memory at 158.74 heres a link use price match.

Buy Mushkin Ascent PC2-8500 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-1066 CL5-5-5-15 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit

Save yerself 10 bucks on the ram and get the Asus P5Q-E from the difference.

Asus P5Q-E - It is only $162.76 so only 5 bucks more use pricematch again on ncix for this.

Buy ASUS P5Q-E ATX LGA775 P45 DDR2 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI SATA2 Sound GBLAN eSATA 1394 Motherboard
