This is honestly why with new systems I'll have MemEx mount and validate the CPU/Ram anymore. At least leaving the store I know I have basic functionality. With the 2700x system took them almost 50 minutes to get it to boot properly. And with liquid loops I always test EVERYTHING before hooking up any plumbing.

It's totally plausable that all 4 memory controller channels are dead on the CPU, and my 'trick' wont work. Unfortunately that means....

You should still find a friend or some way to swap the CPU to test though, otherwise you're going to be chasing your tail again.


You can RMA the processor. Intel has a 3 year warranty.
Already started the process pray it doesn't take too long

I here what you're saying but with more than 30 builds under my belt and never had an issue so that's something that never occurred to me to do . Bit of a lie back in the 386/486 days almost everything was an adventure to get working (PLUG & PRAY ??)
