I fronted the money for the case and Brad chose to go with a Lian Li 216.

that thing is huge! mid tower at almost 58L and has 2x 160mm intake fans and 1x 140mm exhaust fan!

Nice, He should have a pretty capable rig here. At 1080P, he should be able to play almost any game, at lower settings. I played a fair bit of Cyberpunk with the GTX1080 at medium settings, so that should give an idea of what it's capable of.

I looked at that one for the bro-in-law's new build, but the Montech Sky Two GX was cheaper, AND I didn't like the idea of the odd 160mm fans, that if they failed, Lian Li is probably the only place to get a replacement from.

no doubt there are mounting holes for smaller fans...but if one burns out, that's on Brad to fix, LoL.

cases are a very personal thing...it's like a piece of clothing in that it's an extension of your taste / style, etc. I've never thought of Brad as gaudy, transparent, big or loud...but heh, maybe he's trying to expand, LoLoL!!! I am lion, hear me meow!

hey everyone, another quick update in that it looks like we have everything necessary to build a PC from scratch. gba just shipped the RM650 and I ordered the Lian Li 216 off Amazon...but 3 days later it still hasn't shipped. it said there was low stock but checking today, shows it's available to order, so not sure what to make of that. I fronted the cost of the case in the hopes it and the PSU would arrive around the same time, but it looks like that may not happen now and I'm annoyed. <_<
