GN did a review of the Fractal North XL using new methodology. TLDR, the Torrent still beats it by a degree or so using the out of the box config.

Although I just said in the Corsair case thread that I'm not a fan of the wood or wood-look in a case, I do like this design better.

It's pretty dissapointing that they are decreasing the overall quality of the case with flimsy metal compared to previous cases. Not too mention the loose fitting parts.

Rather than fans on the side bracket - how do we think this case would perform with a 3090FE vertically mounted so it can intake air from the mesh side panel? I’m almost tempted to abandon my RGB for the mesh model and all Noctua fans, but I’m worried about thermals / noise.

According to GN, as long as it's not up against a solid panel, like glass, it should be fine to vertical mount the GPU. Hard to tell 100% since the tests for the XL did not include vertical mount.
