DRM is what kept me from buying it.

"A PERMANENT INTERNET CONNECTION AND CREATION OF A UBISOFT ACCOUNT ARE REQUIRED TO PLAY THIS VIDEO GAME AT ALL TIMES AND TO UNLOCK EXCLUSIVE CONTENT. SUCH CONTENT MAY ONLY BE UNLOCKED ONE SINGLE TIME WITH A UNIQUE KEY."

FTL

Screw ubisoft and their DRM on TOP of steam's drm. :<

And that is the reason I didn't get AC2. Instead I ended up grabbing the HL1 Anthology, now my Half Life collection is totally complete.

Ubisoft has taken the always on DRM off now. You only need to be online when you start the game. It will no longer pause or quit out if you lose inet connection while playing. They have had a few news articles about it around on the game sites the past week or 2.

Still doesn't allow me to play it on my notebook if I'm on a bus or plane or boat. With Steam I can just make sure everything is up to date before I leave and set it to offline and play away. :eek:fftopic:

Back on the topic of game sales, anyone else spend just a little too much on this holiday steam sale? Oh and anyone know of any games for $0.05? That's all I got left in the steam wallet and I have already spent more than my allowance from the wife.

If they want that kind of DRM they won't get my money. I want to be able to play my single player games without an active internet connection, thanks.

Today's Steam Daily (Last Daily): "Last Chance On These Top Deals" Neverwinter Nights 2 Platinum - $9.99, Hitman Collection - $7.49, Empire & Napoleon Total War GOTY - $24.99, L4D2 - $6.80, Plants Vs. Zomies GOTY - $3.99, Killing Floor - $4.99, Amnesia Dark Descent - $6.80, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit - $29.99, Dead Space - $6.80, Mafia 2 - $12.49, Grand Theft Auto 4 Complete Edition - $9.99, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Bundle - $4.99

I was definitely expecting an awesome sale today since it was the last, but I guess Steam ran out of ideas.

Bah, just more repeats and here I was hoping for a big bang to finish it up with, owell.

and AC2 really doesnt draw on AC1 much, there is no problem playing it without playing the first.
