I'm inclined to agree with the comments, I think Steve is burnt out. He needs to step away and take a break. At least the videos that people seem to push on Reddit, they've all been "hit" pieces of late. I don't follow the channel directly though, nor do I follow LTT. I much prefer written content over these videos.

I think LTT has kinda become what "TechTV"/"The Screen Savers" was back in the day? More of a mass-market "tech guy". Linus' appearance on Fallon also helped solidify this to me.

I loved screen savers....lol

I was a huge fan of Leo Laporte. But then there wasnt much other than that on at the time. And to a lesser extent Steve Dotto, Dave Chaulk. I couldnt get enough back then.

I recall seeing extra details about that billet labs things. Where the claim was LTT was actually supposed to keep it, with the hope that it was going to be featured in future builds/videos outside of testing. Considering how poor the review itself went (and didn't ever see anything disputing how poor that test was) them featuring it a second time was never going to happen. if there is any truth in that it was theirs to sell if they wanted, not that I necessarily agree with that outcome regardless the whole thing could have been handled better in general.


As a side note only once have received hardware like that, darn thing is still in my desktop and in use almost 10 years later. I honestly cannot see me ever considering selling it.

Any company be it HWC, Jayz, LTT etc selling off things that have been sent to them. I understand can only hold onto so much stuff for so long but the idea of selling that stuff off always leaves me with mixed feelings.
 
Since we are mentioning other sites in this thread too, anyone else watch Tiny Tom Logan anymore? He hasn't been very active lately on YouTube anyway, but I have found some of his videos good with some humour mixing with good detail.

I watched him a lot in the past but things changed quite a bit after his siter passed away. I see he has some newer content. He just doesnt post as aften anymore.

Yeah that was obviously a very hard situation. Hardware reviews seem pretty unimportant in those life situations.

I’ve liked the stuff of his I’ve watched recently.

Gotta say, oof. Knew there was some sort of grudge, but wondered if it was justified; it was. Don't see LTT as malicious, just lazy and incompetent like most of their audience and community.

(y) Yeah, I loved watching those guys too. I THINK Dotto is still around..... it's been a while now, but I did see something semi-recently..... think he has a web presence. As for Chaulk/Chalk?, he just seemed to disappear. :unsure:
