....I was just reminiscing about playing Wolfenstein 3D waaaay back in the day (early 90s), when my friend told me that the makers of wolf had a "new" game coming out, something called "Doom". ..... we were very excited....
So I have played a lot of Doom (2016) and a bit of Doom Eternal, both f*ckin' glorious, and everything an old-ass FPS gamer could ask for.
In both games with every video option set to Ultra (or whatever the highest setting is), and without any real tweaking or trouble shooting, I'm getting frame rates in both games just over 140 FPS (with my monitor set at 3440x1440 @ 144Hz).
I'm almost glad that now that I did not get the 3080, this 3070 (and the rest of the rig) seem to be performing just fine.... and $500 saved.
Things will change in the gaming world of coarse, but I think by the time this 3070 has real issues, I will be buying something way beyond a 3080.
Would type more, but those demons aren't going to Glory Kill themselves!
