Gigabyte KVM issue - need help!

I think you've misunderstood. We know the cables from the keyboard and mouse to the monitor are good. What's suspect is the cable from the monitor to the computer, that USB-B cable. That might be the issue. Are you using the one that came with the monitor or a 3rd party cable? How long is it?

The cable from the Monitor to the Desktop is the HDMI -2 that came with the monitor.

You should have a USB cable that goes from the monitor's USB Type B port to your desktop then configure the KVM wizard appropriately.

Hi, if I use a USB Type B I will not be able to use the 4K features of the monitor. Is that correct? I have the higher end HDMI-2 cable plugged in now.

What do you think?

@Chess Gator, The display is passed through the HDMI cable from your desktop and should allow 4K but it doesn't pass the USB signal from your desktop so you need to connect a USB cable from your desktop to the USB Type B port in the screen for the mouse and keyboard to work.

Hi, so I have to connect both a HDMI cable and USB cable to my desktop to make the KVM work ??

Thanks

Hello fellows,

I owe you all a debt of gratitude, you did not give up on me and now the KVM works!! I am very happy about this situation.

Thank you all again (y)

CG :)

Glad to help! I figured you had a USB issue. HDMI and DisplayPort are largely one way communication technologies and can't transmit USB data.
