It's 3 hours long and I just started it. 10 minutes in and I can see that everyone is pretty much cooked. Us in Canada would not escape unless we get parts distro in Canada instead of buying them via US resellers / distro.
And still a lot of US people believe Trump and think that China or the originating country is paying the duty. With Win10 being EOL, I looked into getting a Mac. The way that seems to work if you order from Apple Canada, it is made in China and shipped direct to the buyer in Canada. My brother (Canada) is a long time Apple user and just bought a new Mac from a local Apple store where he lives. It's 3 hours long and I just started it. 10 minutes in and I can see that everyone is pretty much cooked. Not really. Remember we tack on 100% on their EV to be inline with US and China retaliated against our farm stuff. From the sound of it, a lot of SMB will disappear before any kind of deal is made between US and China. Hyte is doing lose leading business to grow their foot print even before the trade war. They showed GN that they were only making $5 per Y40 sold, with tariff, that case is pushing $200+ USD. The higher end stuff would be close to $700. Funny that they mentioned Caselab as an example of a failed business because not a lot of people will pay for the US made case or at least at those price points. There's no way that the US (or Canada) can build the factories and establish new supply lines anytime soon. But we're in a better position since we still trade with China.
I guess that's easier for the average person to understand. I was watching Times Radio or some other channel and some farmer was surprised they have to pay extra $XXX on tariffs on their equipment import. So there are plenty of people that took Trump's lie about having China pay for it.People need to stop calling them tariffs and start calling them what they are. Import taxes. Paid for by the importer and passed on to the consumer.
they will have an extended service option available, they said they will...just the lil details aren't known yet. on the plus side though, 0patch will have free 0 day patches and if you purchase a 1-year subscription from them, you may even get feature updates on top of the other security updates they will release. And still a lot of US people believe Trump and think that China or the originating country is paying the duty. I'm hoping that Microsoft is going to have a 1 year subscription for Win10 so I don't have to build a new computer right now.
I haven't got that far in the video but I'd expect that the other problem with this is that so much of the supply lines are global (like many of our industries, auto, etc.). So it's the supply chains that will suffer. Then you have China now stopping the export of exotic materials that are required for components - so eventually that will start affecting supply chains.

Congress may flip, but the current Senate map is favoring republicans very strongly. Estimates are about 75% likelyhood they retain the senate majority in 2026 (2028 is more favorable to the Dems). Sadly even if the Dems take the house, they'll have some control of the purse strings, but with the GOP still lock-goosestepping to the Presidency, I wouldn't imagine you'll see notable change unless Trump finds a new distraction by then. Even with control of the house's financial vote, given the administration's new approach of 'the court's decisions don't apply to us' means there's little reigning in of the white house for the rest of his term. One interesting point by Rossman in the video is that he just want consistent and predictable policies. No one can do business when things are unpredictable, even if it's bad policy at least it's consistent. Another interesting point, he predicted in 6 to 9 months, things are going to get worst if the current policies stay in place because people will run out of parts and goods they horded pre-tariff. Funny how we in the west talked about decoupling or less dependent on China, looks like it's going to happen with the US. Will Americans put up with this for 2 years until the mid-term elections? Will it be more chaos with a Dem controlled congress and senate?
