discussion good places to buy used Apple gear?

my father in law wants to replace is 2007 iMac with a more modern 27" iMac.

he mostly surfs news sites from the homeland (Norway), so doesn't need anything exceptional, but he wants reliable and extended warranty, if available.

The few authorized Apple re-sellers that I'm aware of are just as expensive as the actual apple stores if not more so sometimes. Means every mac in the office has been directly from the nearest apple store or ordered online from Apple.

Honestly probably a refurb directly from www.apple.com/ca/

You can always buy AppleCare on it for extended warranty.

People seem to think their old Apple gear don't depreciate. So used gear is put up for ridiculous amounts.

simply.ca might be a option but as izerous has said could be just as bad or worse then apple direct refurb.
