Grand Theft Auto 5 !

I just texted my buddy. He says no Heists still. Gives me great confidence in the PC game...

You're right about Witcher 1. It would crash all the time. However W2 was much improved. I dont remember any outstanding problems with it on release. I expect 3 will raise the bar even further though if there were minor ones in 2.

I'm hoping there won't be much for bugs, and I think CDPR is one of the best companies around. Open world games are so much more prone to buggyness and since this is their first really 'open world' I'm suspecting that it'll be buggier than 2 was. But CDPR does put a lot of effort into their product and since they delayed it already, hopefully their QC dept is on top of things.

Just to weigh in on the Witcher3 issue, this last delay has been solely for bud squashing, they were content ready but say AC unity and thought, we better get this right, so they delayed it. I expect very few bugs, though its an open world so there will very likely be a few that get through. I expect no real issues at launch

They are risking people not caring about it at this point

I disagree. I game on PC, and it made no difference to me that the console version came out first. I don't own a console, so I wasn't going to play that anyway.

A good game in 2014 is still a good game in 2015. Whenever I get to play it, I know I'll have a blast. I appreciate them not putting it out until its ready. What's the rush?

Maybe its just me, guess I maybe didn't care that much about it to being with.

I'm in a pretty similar position, only console I own is a N64 thats sitting in my closet currently.

For the most part I really don't mind when games are delayed, normally its for good reasons, Witcher3 I'm looking at you, but this has just been talked so much about, released on every console other than PC and that PC date just keeps moving. I'm just sure that by the time this actually is released for the PC, in 2017, that I'm likely going to have my head in some other new game and this will turn into a minor blip on my radar at the time.

But a concern I guess for me, is that since this has been released EVERYWHERE else before the PC, been out for a few years that by the time it comes out for PC, at full price, its not going to sell well. At all. And Rockstar will continue to put PC on the back burner for future games.

What is also in my mind is that when they do release it and it gets mediocre sales on PC due to it being EVERYWHERE else for quite a while now they will be able to use that as a reason to not do PC again and then blame it on piracy.

Maybe I'm just jaded.

Normally I'd agree but in the age of short attention spans and evolving gaming, if the pc version is not the best version by far, people will definitely lose interest, I know I will. From the eye candy perspective, when GTA4 can look as good as it does on the Hayssam Keilany mod, I expect 5 to push our hardware by a fair bit, but I know there will be exceptions made for all the other content in 5 and features. And there's this but I'm not reading it in case of spoilers
GTA IV's Story Is Better Than*GTA V's

And as far as losing sales, it hasn't left the top 10 sellers since preorders opened on steam, and even at $59-$69.

The hype is real https://steamdb.info/app/271590/graphs/ new peak number of players reached.

Kotaku is even writing that the consoles' graphics were toned down in the last update
