I've always gone with inum, and while I've heard the longer version used, I don't think I ever heard it used during 25+ years of military aviation where it's used daily.

Aluminium is nonsense. It is used because they want to. There is no logical sense to pronounce it that way other than to sound similar to other elements. lol

uh·loo·muh·nuhm is correct.

Aluminium is fine in french. I work in an aluminum smelter, so I am biased. What a great trailer for the hole we all like.
