Harddrive in Bios

One of my aunts computers died (motherboard got a static shock). So I am taking the two hard drives out of the computer and transferring the data to a different PC via IDE. the first drive plugged in fine and I transferred all the data with no problem. The next hard drive however spools up, and occasionally makes a slight screeching noise. But it will not appear in the BIOS. I have made sure both cables are plugged in right, and I can still get into windows, but this drive wont appear. Any ideas?

It's very possibly dead... unusual noises coming from a hard drive are never a good sign. And if it can't even be read in BIOS? It's toast I think...
