Hello,
I want to buy a graphics card for my pc and I have some trouble selecting one for it.

My PC config is:

Motherboard : Asus P5QPL-AM
CPU: Core 2 duo E7500 @ 2.93 GHz
Ram : 4 gigs

My windows experience index ratings are as follows;

Processor : 6.5
RAM : 6.5
Graphics : 4.2
Gaming graphics : 3.5
Primary Hard Disk : 5.7

Can you please recommend me a good gaming graphics card

Thank you in advance.. :)

what resolution do you game at? What is your budget? What is your power supply and are you willing to upgrade it if you need to? What are you currently using for graphics(integrated?)? What games do you/do you want to play?

hi, first of all i want to apologize for my late reply.. :)
my computer resolution is 1280*720 px. My budget is around 200 $, and yea if its necessary I will have to upgrade my power supply as well. I was using an Asus 8400gs graphics card but it got screwed, so integrated :( .. I want to play some latest games such as Crysis 2, Battlefield 3 etc. in the Highest graphical detail possible..

thanks

For current monitor you can use anything like a 55ti or 560 (non ti) and be pretty much set but a new monitor would up the requirements to a 6870 / 560ti.

Not worth going much higher with your current machine but it would be playable at that.

most games aren't very heavy on the cpu, although you would see some performance gains in most titles with a new rig. That said BF3 is hard on the cpu and your may bottleneck the card in this situation.

At your resolution there isn't much data especially with your cpu.

If your really only after a new GPU (and were reasonably happy with your old one till it went pop) then any of the lower end cards will offer you a significant upgrade for much less than your budget.
Check out any of the reviews for the newer lower end cards to see what you think (remembering that at lower resolution you will get better performance)

From those reviews the best buy for your needs that i can see is the very good for it's age: 5770 (my last card)
Anything bigger than a 550Ti / 6850 is probably overkill and the 6670 is probably just about sufficient,
Anything much more powerful will probably be wasted with your current CPU and resolution

Best bet is to look second hand.. a 5770 is cool running and low(er) power card (considering it's age) that should be readily available second hand.

hd 5770/6770/6850 or gtx 460/550Ti/560 non Ti. You should run a quality 500w or bigger power supply with these cards IMO.

get a 6850 they are equal to or a little faster than a 460 and use less power and run very cool plus it should let you run all your games at that res with almost all settings maxed ( my friend bought my old gts 250 from me and maxes a majority of his games at the same res. and a 6850 is ~x2~x2.5 times faster than that:thumb:
