25% off high quality knives is almost unheard of, but Knife Toronto has such a promo going until the end of this week. they're celebrating their 16th anniversary with 25% discounts on all their knives, all their sharpening gear, 25% off all their cookware and cutting boards and then 'huge' discounts on a bunch of their coffee products too.

I just ordered two cleavers, both are from Hatsukokoro Sentan and made of White #2 steel that's clad in SS. the 200mm has a Kurouchi finish while the 170mm has a Migaki finish. and a few other bits...a hasegawa cutting matt, some tongs and fish tweezers. my wife finds that fish tweezers are excellent for nipping the tips off garlic cloves so they can be easily peeled. barely crushing them does that too, but she insists garlic tastes the best if the cloves haven't been ruptured and go through a garlic press. she doesn't much care for minced garlic... though I did buy a Gracula garlic press, which they say minces the clove, but honestly, it almost comes out a paste, LoL!!!

sorry if any of that are run on sentences.

Newegg has sales on Seagate NAS drives. Best deal looks to be a 16TB ironwolf pro @ $420 (after $15 promo code CASAND232).

16GB is usually enough for the Windows 11 Bootable. ;)

As a counterpoint.... "New" (openbox up to 750 hrs) 16TB Toshiba MG08 from serverpartdeals @ $338 which is relatively close to the price you'd pay taking your chance on a shucked drive.

3yr warranty.

edit: $40 shipping on a single drive though. :(

Yeah, I saw that. :)

A person would need 5 of them for 32TB + parity. :)

That said.... assuming this is for some kind of NAS for data.... how fast do you really need it to travel around your network?
