I Googled a bunch of different terms and couldn't find anything definitive. In this case, it's the RX Vega 8 off the 4700U vs the newer 5700U.

My opinion would be less than 5% performance difference. It's the same chip after all.

However, they should have clocked it faster / improved it a little bit on the new zen 3 apu.

The zen 3 vs zen 2 is the biggest change. So 5700u all the way.

Edit :

My bad, the 5700u is a tweaked zen 2 cpu, not zen 3.

5500u / 5700u --> Zen 2
5600u / 5800u --> Zen 3

from what I remember reading it varies from around negligible-20%, with the vast majority of stuff on the lower end. 5700u has more GPU cores and clock, but the reality is IGP are most limited memory bandwidth.

Don't quote me, but I am pretty sure that is correct. Minimal difference.

If you're referring to JUST the igpu performance, almost nil difference. They're identical chips is my understanding.

if you're talking overall performance? As others said 0-20% depending on application.

5300U/5500U/5700U are Zen2, but are refreshed with SMT enabled (hyperthreading) and 1 additional gpu core over their respective older sku 4300u/4500u/4700u. Performance will be very similar unless the software in question can make use of SMT.

5600U/5800U and H-Series are Zen3
