Not a knock on you, but I think its weird people from another province are allowed to travel in and ski, and stand in long non-socially distanced queues, but my daughter who doesn't live with me isn't allowed to come over and visit me in my home. lol

Hopefully we are stable enough tomorrow that they ease some of these restrictions for us.

I'd like to address this.

S'ok , I know it's partially a knock on me, but I will defend it ! :D

One of the things that makes Canada a country, is unrestricted access from province to province. If there isn't then it ain't.*
Recently, the premier of British Columbia, John Horgan, put this question to a group of high price lawyers, his provincial medical team, his cabinet, and the public.
It was determined that yes, the B.C. government *could* medically lock down the borders.

You will notice they did not.

My family , (along with thousands of others) live in Alberta but own property in B.C.
We have paid taxes there for 40 years.
I had people from 2 skihills thank me for coming this year because they are soooo hurtin.......

That's why it was not locked down.
------------

Make no mistake, COVID rules are vigorously enforced at ski hills, and I've never seen what you describe, all the lines are properly masked, distanced etc where I've been.....the ski patrol is there to make sure.

Rosco.

* There's been a lot of debate about the constitutionality of interprovincial border closures. During this pandemic, it's been done a couple times, but I'm not sure it's entirely legal......I'm sure, once this is over, it'll be debated for years.

WTF? Oh right, I forgot it's well established that Covid only infects non-taxpayers.

Australia has a constitution similar to ours, and they had police at the state borders enforcing public health measures. Little wonder Australia has had less than 30,000 confirmed covid cases while we're closing in on 900,000. Things are not locked down because our officials, elected and unelected, are completely spineless, if not outright incompetent.* Whatever the War Measures Act is called now can make a lot of things "legal", our rights are no where near as absolute as those of our neighbours to the south.

*And, yes, I recognise being next to the world's largest Petri dish of Covid complicates things.

At what point do you point the skis downhill and have fun? That looked like a whole lotta work to me.
