Sweet Moses... Well, you could switch to non-vertical mount for it?

And sorry about the extra posts noise -- I should have read all the new posts before commenting but you deeked me out with the "Rants..." and "What's your latest purchase" posts!

No problem with the "noise". :)

I'm going to be sticking with the vertical mount. I've got a different pump mount I could use if I have to which will raise the pump a little higher. The loop would remain essentially the same, but I'd have to drain it and lengthen the front/side tube as well as a minor adjustment to the pump outlet -> cpu block run.

Quick follow up on this.... doing away with the vertical mount is not an option with this case unless a person was planning on using a low profile video card. Standard orientation PCIe slots are limited to half height.

7900 6800 comparison.jpg

Installed in case2.jpg

As per the comments on just about every review, this thing is comically huge! The 6800 XT wasn't a tiny card by any measurement, but it's dwarfed by the Asus. :)

Anybody with eagle eyes might be able to make out that I re-did the loop. Did away with the 3D Printed "shelf" and replaced it with a store bought metal 120mm pump mount.

Looks fantastic in its new home! Congrats!!

It better! Just did a final tally on this PC and the total is crazy even without considering the value of the WC kit that went into it. I got $1K back on the used gear I sold, but it took every penny I made over 4 weeks. :)

Temps / fan profiles seem to be dialed in reasonably well.

1 hr full load (cpu-z stress test + Looped Steel Nomad) GPU temps are 67c Core / 80c Hotspot and CPU temps are 80c / 69c depending on what number you're looking at.

The GPU temps are relatively low and I'm fine with the 80c max on the CPU as it's worst case scenario with the fan profiles set to top out at 80% regardless of temp. CPU Idle temps are high 20s -> low 30s.

Still happy with that STRIX X870E-E? Everything seems to be creeping up in price, the MSI Carbon is now +$50, this STRIX looks poised to also be +$45 shortly. While I don't have a CPU yet still, I'm thinking I kinda should order a board before the prices go up anymore.

Yeah, no complaints other than the audio ports + single X4 PCIe slot that I referred to earlier. The only other oddity is the lack of fan data in hardware monitor software but I suspect that's a chipset issue as opposed to something specific to this particular board.

If anything the active +2 gen 4 nvme drive slots over an above the primary gen 5 seems to be better than most.

Yes, I saw the Gen4 slots are connected to the chipset instead, thus they get "full" speed. Still a shame that everyone drops the PCIe slot to x8 though if you use more than 1 Gen5 NVMe. Looks like I'd be able to access all the NVMe slots with the GPU installed, since the waterblock is only a single slot.

The price has gone from $640 to $675 and based on some retailers, $720 is coming... so feeling like I need to buy then :)
