They claim that this CPU cooler gets 2X's better cooling performance then a 240mm AIO and if they aren't talking about power consumption of the CPU cooler itself and that you will get much better temp's with this unit I'd be onboard to get one.

Peltier coolers are infamously inefficient that's why a lot of these coolers never really make is mass market. CoolIt systems in Calgary had a really good setup that was better than most, then Corsair bought them out and axed all the interesting products killing off all the solid state coolers to mass produce the crappy AIOs they started making after the take over.
