Having one of their mini versions, yep this thing is HIGHLY programmable, including what it displays too not just the commands.

You didn't have 'game' in the title and I opened this thinking you were advocating for their use in actual space craft and I was ready to open with 'Are you stupid?', fortunately I read your actual post before flying off the handle

For a game, it's a neat idea. I don't think they're widely adopted enough devs would be well served to spend a lot of time on it, but I could see a space sim with good 3rd party or player modification support being able to do some cool stuff with it.
