The Corsair A500 Air Cooler has some problems living up to its claims of being able to cool 250W TDP processors. So it was time for some work trying to fix everything from airflow with some more Noctua fans to the base finish by lapping it. But did it actually do anything?

It is amazing how badly reviewed in general this has been, not even sure that liquid metal would be enough to improve it.

Yes! A review posted on the forum. Thanks!

Definitely a bit of a disappointment with the price tag they put on this. Corsair should know better. It looks the part, but performance is not where it needs to be (even with mods) to hang out with its direct competitors.

Called it. That gap in the middle just makes it stupid. I said from minute 1 that this cooler would be crap, didn't need a video to reaffirm what we all already knew.

What happened to Dmitriri anyway?

He's still around isn't he? AFAIK he's still making the case/PC related videos.

If OTOH, you're wondering about the fact that he hasn't been to the website since 2017, he's never been heavily involved with the forum side of things. The only reviews in recent history that have had a presence on the forums would have been AKGs, and with him having moved on I think it's safe to say that the days of HWC reviews being anything but video based are behind us never to return.

Just trying to set realistic expectations based on the caveat Gav referenced as to this being a chance for forum members to see and discuss the reviews from the youtube site amongst ourselves, and not necessarily a duplication of the comments/response function that already exists on the youtube and twitter feeds/pages.

Its amusing how bad this cooler is. Its just another lesson of just because Corsair puts their name on it, doesn't make it good. They have been the new OCZ for years, or do I mean Thermaltake?

Haven't watched the HWC review, but I had GN's review on while I was washing the dishes and it sounds like it's a real stinker. Corsairs really starting to move to a mixed record. They had some real knockouts, especially when they were first breaking into the case market, but it feels like there's been as many misses as hits over the last couple years.
