I wonder how long until we have 96GB non-binary DIMM available.

MSI just announced four mobo, two based on the X870E and two on the B850...one MAG and MEG for each chipset. what's interesting is how these are spec'd to support up to 256GB of RAM, so 4x 64GB. what this tells me is that 96GB sticks are on the near horizon!

Weird thing i always found with MB max ram numbers. They are always only published as current data but never think forward at all to mention if they can support more when larger sticks are released.

For example if 96GB sticks do land on the market no one will ever update the technical specs to mention "Max memory: 384GB ram. For people buying new in the moment not really a concern but it has been confusing with some older hardware.

Why does this DDR4 based computer mentioned max total 32GB on the spec sheet but work just fine with 4x16GB sticks etc

I was looking at Asus offerings and they're call capped at 192GB...so I wonder if MSI is pulling a one up on everyone or that's a type they'll walk back on after generating a ton of excitement. :P
