We all know the issues with the current state of the high boost/low "nominal" clocks on intel laptop CPUS and how they can exceed the "tdp" when doing anything above the nominal, but this is getting ridiculous.

A "45watt" tdp CPU (i9-10980HK) apparently draws 135 watts at full speed (if the cooling and power limits allow).

RIP notebook coolers. This is why the velocity turbo of 5.3 is marketing wank. Unless your notebook is 3" thick you aint gonna sit under 50C for more than a microsecond.

and in other articles it was said that Intel has partners stuffing these into thin / light options. there's not a chance they'll ever reach their potential in one of those. >.<
