You forgot one:
- Was it a pointless release, other than to add another number to the front of their model numbers, in an attempt to appear as though it's something new, to sell to folks that have to have the latest & greatest? Yes. ;)
What’s your point? AMD INTEL NVIDIA all do this. It’s nothing new. If you don’t like it then don’t buy it. Simple.

does it consume a lot more power? yes.
is it more expensive? yes.
does it have a good value proposition? no.
Not as a side grade. Certainly not. But for someone getting a newer system. Sure. But this can be said for most products released on a similar cycle.

like almost everything in existence, there are nuances ;) as the only option because it will replace Raptor Lake, yes, that's progress...just this isn't really progress. as you said, a side grade.

Propaganda is a strong word.

- Does it perform better than the 13900k? Yes.
- Did it retake the gaming performance crown? Yes.

It's a cpu release. There is no mandatory purchase. Should BB, CC, or MX sell it to you as the fastest gaming cpu? Why not? It's a small performance increase, but it is an increase. It may not make sense for many, but it can for some. It uses more power than AMD, but it's not an earth shattering difference, especially when comparing 14900k to 7950x3d. Many reviews are saying that Both Intel and AMD are hitting around 100c even on 360 rads. Both have hit the limit.
Can you link the review that shows it better for gaming? I haven't seen a single review that shows that overall.

I think my point was obviously stated. Yeah, I know the other major players do similar stuff, but the gains between 13 & 14 are SO small, and this just happens to be one of the instances that I felt like adding my 2 cents. As for "don’t like it then don’t buy it", that's also rather obvious, which goes to @Marzipan's point, that I agreed with, that the folks that pay attention to this stuff probably won't be buying it, unless the price is the same as 13th gen.

it's better for gaming by a 1 - 5% in the benchmarks...which is also within the margin of error, so who knows.

I meant vs. the 13900K.

Which doesn't even make it a side-grade, which @crazyea also stated, and Mike pretty much said in the HWC video on the topic.
